Cedrick Ndatenguha Cyifuzo鈥檚 induction training and quick thinking resulted in him administering life-saving CPR in an emergency situation.

Cedrick joined LDC Care Company LDC Care as a Support Worker at the start of July. He immediately entered his two-week induction where he went through an intensive training plan of courses to help him in his role, delivered by in-house training instructor, Maureen Fellows. Included within these courses was first aid and basic life support training – a brand new skill for Cedrick.

Whilst at home a few nights later, a neighbour in his street took ill and became unresponsive. Thanks to the quick-thinking and skilful application of his learning, Cedrick managed to resuscitate his neighbour by the time the ambulance arrived. Cedrick took charge of the situation, which fortunately had a very positive outcome, with the neighbour receiving medical attention and recovering well.

Cedrick’s story has not only inspired his colleagues but has also reminded everyone of the importance of this training and the impact it can have in real life.

LDC Care Co said:

Everyone here at LDC Care Co is incredibly proud of Cedrick鈥檚 actions that day, and feels very fortunate that he is working with us. Cedrick demonstrated a cool, calm and collected approach in a stressful situation, ultimately saving a person鈥檚 life. We are also incredibly grateful to Maureen for what was clearly an exemplary standard of training, showing she is making a real difference to lives each and every day.鈥
