Social care workers celebrated in awards ceremony

Frontline care workers were celebrated in an awards ceremony which was held to highlight the importance of social care, its workforce and the high level of training needed to work in social care.
The event was held in Expect Limited’s community hub ‘The Bowersdale Resource Centre’, and was presented by Aintree Training Limited, along with guest speaker Dave Kelly from Liverpool based Charity Daisy Inclusive UK, who lit up the room with his defiant story of battling against going blind overnight to achieving success in both his business and personal life.
To celebrate their achievements over 2022, social care employees who had completed training programmes and achieved formal qualifications were invited to attend. Care workers from Expect, Focus Care, Rowan Care, and Access to Care received awards and qualifications, and were thanked and praised for their work during 2022.
The aim of event was to show social care workers that they are valued by society and communities. It’s hoped that this event will be the first of a regular event.
One support worker contacted Expect ltd after the event to say:
It's lovely to see staff gaining all this amazing state of the art training to become better support workers, for ourselves to grow and develop and for the services users we support now and, in the future. It makes us feel appreciated that little bit more.
Feedback being provided from a number of attendees said it really made them feel valued and that they felt part of a bigger mission, a mission to be seen by others as the highly trained professionals that they are in a sector that provided opportunities to grow, learn and develop careers.
