Curado, a specialist mental health provider delivering residential care services for adults aged 18–65 in the London Borough of Sutton, were delighted to once again host their annual Christmas party and awards ceremony for their staff and the wider sector.

Now in its 12th year, the annual awards have become a much anticipated event among the social care sector.

This year’s ceremony took place on 8 December at The Brooklands Hotel and recognised the hard work of Curado’s own staff and others in the sector throughout this year.

The special event included the awards ceremony as well as a delicious dinner, entertainment and dancing.

The winners of each award were:

  • Best Newcomer: Danisha Walters
  • Best Professional Performance: Paige Maher
  • Best Professional Performance: Augustine Kyereme
  • Best I Care Ambassador: Augustine Keyereme
  • Best Communicator: Toni Stead
  • Best Innovator: Felisha Patel
  • Best Training and Development Provider: Beverley Campbell
  • Best Care Provider Forum London Borough of Sutton
  • Care Home of the Year: Lona Lodge
  • Employee of the Year Maya Ramrichia

The awards first started in 2011 when Curado was a smaller company, and was a natural extension of their regular Christmas party. As they were working on building their strategy around rewards and recognition, they found the Christmas party was a good time to recognise the work of their team over the past year, and from there the event continued to grow.

Now the awards ceremony is not only an internal event for Curado but also includes the wider social care sector, with awards for other organisations too – such as the ‘Best Care Provider Forum’ and ‘Best Training and Development Provider.’

Curado says this also makes those organisations feel more valued too.

The nominees are provided by invitees to the event across the social care sector, with Curado selecting the winners from the nominees based on the description of their achievements in the nominations.

Speaking of the event Yvonne Obuaya, Managing Director of Curado Group said:

Though our team has grown, it was great see to more nominations and joint winners in more than one category which is indicative of the talent that we have and the effort that is being made to uphold the values of Curado. Well done to all.

Attendees of the event said:

Fun and laughter is the best medicine and it shows how everyone at Curado gets on so well. Yvonne you have the best ethos with your staff and company values.

It was a fun event filled with love and team spirit. Well done.

Fantastic evening as always. Great entertainment and great guest speaker.

A fantastic night was had by all! Thank you very much.
